Wow I needed this so badly! I didn't realize the way I was treating building community like an emergency. And while it is certainly an urgent task for survival, it cannot be done without patience and care. Thank you!

I am. I'm thankful that building community has been such a consistent piece of advice for years now. I've been reading a lot since 11/5 and community continues to be the north star. I'm including your essay on a list of pieces of writing giving me clarity and comfort right now.

This is GOLD for me right now. I’m in the process of considering creating a mutual aid organization for my Ward. And I find myself continually feeling urgency and then reminding myself to take it slow - really investigate, learn, find support. I DO want my involvement to be for the long haul. Thank you!

This is so exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you so much- I have definitely been feeling the urgency in my body. Remembering this is a long walk, and that I walk in the footsteps of people who have been organizing for decades before I woke up. Grateful for this- I’ll be bringing it to my next potluck :)
